Planned Gifts

A gift left to charity when someone passes away. A bequest is one of the easiest ways to leave a legacy and support the causes you care about.

The Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) is funded with cash or property. It makes payments for a lifetime or a specified term of years to people you select, then distributes the remainder to charity.

The Family Charitable Lead Trust (CLT) is funded with cash or property and makes payments to our organization for a specified period, then distributes the trust property to beneficiaries you select.

You leave your retirement assets to benefit our organization when you pass away. Your children save on income tax.

Our organization accepts a gift of property – either a personal residence or other property – and you retain the right to use the property for your lifetime.

We purchase your property for less than its fair market value or accept a gift of mortgaged property.

Did you know you can make a gift of life insurance to support Gonzaga Prep and receive some tax benefits?

The Legacy Society at Gonzaga Preparatory School includes those who have made a documented deferred gift (future gift) to the school.

Outright Gifts

Gifts can be sent by postal mail, credit cards or direct debit securely online, via stock or wire transfer or a donor-advised fund.

Gifts of appreciated stock allow the school to receive a larger gift than if it was sold by the owner and the proceeds donated to the school. In turn, you receive a greater tax deduction by giving stock directly to Gonzaga Prep.

Instructions

A donor advised fund (or DAF) can be used to distribute gifts to numerous charities. With a DAF, you can make gifts to charity during your lifetime, and when you pass away, your children can carry on your legacy of giving.

Take advantage of tax incentives through contributions from Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) or similar accounts to Gonzaga Prep. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions. Your gift will be put to use today, allowing you to see the difference it makes.

Interested in making your gift have double the impact? Many companies offer matching gift programs as an employee benefit. To see if your gift is eligible, simply type your company’s name in the matching gift search box at checkout. It’s a quick and easy way to see if your employer will match your generosity and help support our mission even more.

The Corporate Companion and athletics sponsorship program provides the support necessary to help fulfill the mission of the school, while providing a business year-round visibility in the greater Prep community and alumni.

We would be honored to welcome you into the Legacy Society. This society gives Gonzaga Prep an opportunity to thank those who have remembered them in their estate planning.

Members of the Legacy Society include those who have committed to one or more of the following deferred gifts:

  • Bequest
  • Charitable remainder trust
  • Life insurance
  • Gift of a residence or property with a retained life estate
  • Gonzaga Prep is a beneficiary of a retirement account
